Pigment retention is NOT guaranteed. This service in NOT for everyone. Please read this list of contraindications and guidelines and text me for the fastest response if you have any questions.
Permanent Makeup is NOT recommended for any clients who are or have any of the following:
It is not necessary to have your brows shaped prior to your appointment. In fact, we ask that you avoid waxing, threading, tweezing, or tinting at least one week prior, to prevent any inflammation or irritation.
Discontinue brow serums 4 weeks prior.
No lash perms/tints 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after.
Remove lash extensions at least 2 days prior, and cleanse thoroughly, removing all the bacteria. You may get a set after 4 weeks.
It is preferred that you do not wear eye makeup the day of procedure. If this is unavoidable, please thoroughly remove all product before coming in. Do not wear eye makeup to the appointment.
Stop using lash enhancement serums 4 weeks prior to your procedure. Serums are stimulating, making your eyelids fragile, sensitive, and too vascular for cosmetic tattooing.
If you have a style or any other sort of infection, you will need to reschedule your appointment.
Do not wear contact lenses the day of your appointment. It is best to wait 24-48 hours before you resume wearing your contacts. If pigment is trapped under your contact, it can cause corneal abrasion.
If you have ever had a cold sore(herpes simplex virus), been prone to cold sores, or you may have HSV that lies dormant in your system, this procedure could cause an outbreak. It is best to consult with your doctor and upon your doctor’s recommendation, take the doctor-prescribed medication such as Acyclovir, Zovirax, or Valtrex starting at least 3 days before the procedure, lasting a total of 7 days.
Gently exfoliate your lips 2 days prior to your procedure, 2x a day.
Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water (the first sign of dehydration is dry lips). Keep your lips well hydrated with a good lip balm.
If your skin is constantly inflamed or acne-prone, please contact us for a consultation to determine if this procedure is right for you. We cannot proceed with the procedure if there is any type of facial break out, rash, inflammation, abrasion, blemish, bruise or sunburn.
Your skin is the canvas from which pigment is deposited. If your skin is compromised, the pigment will not retain well and is more prone to risk of an infection after each application. If you are under a physician care for skin concerns such as acne medication (accutane) unfortunately you are not a good candidate for this procedure. To be considered you have to be off the medication for at least 1 year.
Avoid tanning and sun exposure 2 weeks prior.
Please let us know if you have any concerns with your skin prior to your appointment. We need your skin to be in utmost optimal condition to yield the best possible results. Per our studio policy, failure to inform us prior to your appointment will result in the loss of your deposit. A new deposit will be required to rebook your appointment.
Refrain from taking any supplements such as fish oil (omegas) multivitamins, or Vitamin E 1 week prior to your appointment.
Multi-vitamins increases healing and speed up recovery too quickly for the pigment to retain into the skin. Fish oil (omegas) and Vitamin E may thin blood and cause redness in the facial tissue during the procedure.
Reduce caffeine and alcohol intake the night before, as well as, the day of your procedure.
Avoid blood thinning medications such as, Advil, Ibuprofen, Aspirin, and Niacin, at least 48 hours prior to appointment.
Some discomfort and increased pain sensitivity will occur during your menstrual cycle.
If you would like to take pain medication, we recommend Tylenol as it will not thin your blood. If you are prescribed other medication’s that cause blood thinning such as aspirin or ibuprofen, please let us know prior to booking your appointment.
Refrain from any skin care treatments/products and facials such as, lightening, resurfacing, anti-aging/acne creams, or serums containing acid for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment. No chemical peels 60 days prior.
Skin treatments will interfere with the healing process of your permanent makeup and may cause unpredictable results. Use of Retinol/Retin-A and chemical treatments thins the skin and increases sensitivity- which could lead to bleeding, scarring or slow healing, and therefore we cannot move forward with permanent makeup procedure.
Eyelid Surgery, Lasik or any type of face-lift surgery should be done at least 1 year before your appointment.
It can slightly change the shape of your brows once all of the swelling subsides. Your shape can be adjusted but please consider that it will require more time and money spent.
Botox, fillers, can be done 4 weeks before or 4 weeks after our procedure.
These treatments can interfere with how your brows heal and can cause unwanted results. Please plan ahead accordingly.
We recommend refraining from working out 24 hours prior your appointment.
It is also highly recommended to refrain from working out at least 7 days after your appointment. Increased blood flow will heal your brows prematurely and result in poor pigment retention.
